In the period October - December 2022, about 5.6 million people across Somalia were experiencing high levels of acute food insecurity, classified as Crisis or worse (IPC Phase 3 or above). The unprecedented failure of five consecutive rainy seasons, as well as persistent conflict, displacement, and high food prices, are impacting 7.8 million people, nearly half of Somalia's population.
